Tips for Sleeping Comfortably with Lash Extensions

Lash extensions can definitely enhance the beauty of your eyes by making them look fuller and longer. However, one of the most common concerns among lash extension wearers is how to sleep with them on without damaging them or causing discomfort. In this blog post, we will be sharing some tips and tricks that will help you sleep comfortably with lash extensions.

Choose the right sleeping position

Your sleeping position plays a vital role in keeping your lash extensions intact while you snooze. It is recommended that you sleep on your back to avoid rubbing or crushing your lashes against the pillow. If sleeping on your back isn’t possible for you, try using a U-shaped travel pillow which allows you to rest your head in an elevated position without compromising comfort.

Use silk or satin pillowcases

Silk and satin are materials that cause less friction compared to cotton, which means they won’t tug at delicate lash extensions while you sleep. Invest in a silk or satin pillowcase if possible.

Avoid touching/pulling at lashes

It’s essential not to touch or pull at your eyelashes as they may bend out of shape and break off easily when touched frequently. Avoid touching/scratching/rubbing around eyes altogether because it could damage both natural lashes and false ones.

Cleanse gently before bed

Thoroughly cleansing your face before bed helps remove dirt/makeup buildup from throughout the day but make sure not to use oil-based cleansers as it could weaken adhesion between natural lashes & false ones leading towards fall-out over time once applied multiple times per week/months so use gentle water-soluble eye makeup remover instead such as micellar water.

Braid hair away from face

If hair falls over the forehead, there’s always risk of getting caught and pulling the lash extensions. To avoid this, braid your hair away from your face or tie it up before going to bed.

Not using mascara on top of lashes

Mascara is not recommended to apply over eyelash extension as this may damage them significantly. It’s better to avoid using mascara altogether if possible; however, if you must use it, only apply at the tips but be gentle when removing with a water-soluble eye makeup remover.

Lash extensions are an excellent way to enhance the beauty of your eyes. However, proper care is necessary for them to last longer without causing any discomfort. With these tips and tricks mentioned in our blog post above on how to sleep with lash extensions, you can rest easy knowing that they’ll stay put throughout the night!
